An exams leave e-mail is written by an employee to notify his/her employer regarding leaves he/she might want to take due to any examinations. There are times when employees are working while continuing their studies. In this case, there is a possibility that they might encounter exams and for that they need to take a few days off in order to fully prepare for them. In such cases, the employees have to write to their employers in order to explain to them the full situation. It is expected for the employee to notify the organization at least two to three weeks prior to the exams. Moreover, it is also expected that the employee provides a full date and time schedule for the examinations.

Since you will be writing to your boss, you are expected to maintain a formal and professional tone. Be concise and only include things that are extremely important. Moreover, make sure that you provide your employer with all the back-up or cover-up options. For instance, if you want to make up for the missed time, you need to inform your employer how exactly you are planning to do that. In case you want to take paid leaves, you need to check your leave balance and inform your employer accordingly.

Dear Sir,

I am writing this e-mail to inform you that I will not be reporting to work from 23rd July 2014 to 4th August 2014 due to the fact that I am appearing for my MBA finals. I already informed you during my hiring process that I will be taking leaves for at least 2 weeks because I am expected to give out my final exams at the end of July. We also agreed that this will be a paid leave and I will not have to cover up for my work.

Thanks for your consideration. I am expecting an acceptance from you soon so that I can take the days off.

Regards,

Julian Drake.
