Sample of Testimonial Letter

A testimonial letter is written when your employee has decided to depart from your organization and another organization is inquiring about how he/she has performed over the years he was with you. It is not really necessary to always write the positive things about your employee, but it is considered to be ‘mutual respect’ that you say good things about your former employee. Start your letter off by introducing your former employee and what his position was and by maintaining a formal tone simply explain whether he has been performing well with you or not.

To whom it may concern,

I confirm that Joey Judson was employed by DreamLand Inc. from 30th April 2010 to 31st December 2013. He held the following position: Marketing Manager.

In his most recent position, he had the responsibility to design a marketing strategy for the organization. The marketing strategy which he streamlined was far better than what we made in the year before he was appointed. He was not only able to work with his team; in fact, he was able to perform as a leader and produced results better than any other employee in his position. Joey Judson brought forward all the good qualities from his team and developed a system through which we could easily analyze the performance of every individual in his team. He always acted maturely and showed good judgement whenever it was required. His out of the box and unconventional thinking has helped our organization solve practical issues in the most efficient way possible.

I would highly recommend Joey Judson as I personally believe he is a model member of our team and he was someone who provided consistent performance and managed to come up to all expectations.

Yours faithfully,

Kyle Walker
